If I had been one minute later it wouldn’t have happened at all. I opened the door and was greeted with excited voices and your friendly smile. Everyone was excited about the unexpected activity and extended an invitation for me to tag along. I had other things that needed to be done but the second I saw the look on your face as everyone awaited my response I knew I had to say yes.
It was the perfect opportunity to show my interest. The way you look at me shows an indication you have an inkling of my desire for you, a desire spawned shortly after meeting you. Your greying hair, confident smile, and dominant yet easy going demeanor reeled me in from the first moments after we shook hands.
Being in a crowd of faces made it easier for me to focus on you and to watch how you handle yourself in a crowd. I couldn’t take my eyes off you and the way your face lit up with excitement explaining our activity. Your voice, your gestures, and your smile melted a piece of me.
I could tell the crowd made it easier for you as well. I lost count of how many times we locked eyes and smiles before I had to look away. The way my name rolled off your tongue made me giddy like a schoolgirl with her first crush.
I wish it lasted longer. I find myself anxious for the next time I work with you. This would’t have grown into more than a schoolgirl crush if I wouldn’t have turned around and saw you watching me leave and briefly locking eyes until the door closed and I briefly glimpsed the smile on your face…
